Just a quick update.
I'm teaching in Toronto at James Cardinal McGuigan Catholic Secondary School, through Now Hear This' SWAT program. Things are going well with both students and teacher. I'm learning as much as teaching, as always. My car is holding up (fingers crossed). I just finished teaching a seven week adult course in Picton, which also went very well.
I've been working on a new book of Selected Writings, Poetry and Illustrations with Illustrator Teresa Westervelt. A lot of the writings come out of my rediscovery of faith that came after my father's death and wife's affair and then our divorce. Others were inspired by some of Teresa's amazing illustrations. The current title is You're Not Alone. I'll have a release date on that soon. It's been delayed due to anal-retentivness. :)
I did my first reading from You're Not Alone, in front of a local poetry group, to a crowd of about 20, at Miss Lily's/Books and Company.
I will be in the next issue of Quinte Living and have a short story being published in Square 2 Magazine. I'll be reading it at the issues launch party on December 15th. More information will be posted as the date gets closer.
I'm also working as a bartender at Harvest Restaurant, with celebrity chef Michael Potters, whose show, Chef Worthy, airs Saturday Night on the W Network. I love food and drink, cooking, making, eating and drinking. Working at Harvest has allowed me to learn more about the culinary arts.
There are a few other things going on the writing front, but they're in early stages and don't want to say anything . . . yet. :-)
